About Luffness Mains

Luffness Mains is an arable farm on the East Lothian coast 20 miles from Edinburgh, close to many world class golf courses. Allan Stevenson lives here. Farmed by grandfather, also Allan Stevenson from 1913, we now have an all-weather equestrian arena for hire.

As farmers our focus is on sustainable production of potatoes, carrots and other arable crops mostly for retail and food service customers. With LEAF Marque accreditation, the Gold Standard for sustainable farming in the UK, we are proud of our focus on innovation and quality.

Allan Stevenson

Experiencing a very challenging year as the Chairman of the Farmers’ Club in London www.thefarmersclub.com due to the closure of the Club and cancellation of almost all the events for the year already due to Covid19. Grateful to have been locked down on a farm with the ability to move around freely, as an ‘essential’ person, with a very busy farm team planting potatoes and carrots and emptying stores throughout this period.

Looking forward to returning to the Farmers’ Club when movement restrictions allow and being able to travel. Missing golf, social life, eating out and the local pub.

Arable farmer in East Lothian, Scotland, specialising in growing carrots & potatoes for pre-packing for retail markets.

Chartered Accountant and experienced NED & Finance Director.
